Author
When I was a child, I had a number of escapes through books and film. Whether it was the deep science fiction of Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park, or the fantastical landscapes of Middle Earth, I was always a boy with his head in the clouds of another universe.
Smash cut to adult me, and I'm still escaping, but this time into stories of my own.
Valkyrie Jones
My debut novel, released February 2017:
A secluded girl finds her humanity by becoming something inhuman. In ancient legends, the Valkyrie served as arbiters of life and death. In the dusty residence of Oldtown, Kansas, a 14-year old Valkyrie Jones doesn’t care much about either. Aside from stray pets, she has never made a single friend, nor has she tried to. In the hyper-dramatic world of high school, Valkyrie is perfectly content with being surly, sarcastic, and alone. Nevertheless, a violent and supernatural force is awakened within her, revealing a sinister new potential, and forcing her to make friends with the unlikeliest of people. As this power evolves in terrifying ways, secrecy and control become crucial, and Valkyrie doesn’t know if she can trust anyone, even herself.
